Alphington AFC - Under 9s Managed by Dave Bunclark

ALPHINGTON JETS 4 CULLOMPTON WOLVES 0

Alphington Jets got quickly into their stride on an excellent, but large pitch.Commanding George Rae opened the scoring by waltzing past 2 players and cooly slotting home from 10 yards.Jets increased their lead when a good move involving Cam Hargreaves and Jack Bunclark allowed the goal machine Sam Webber to rifle home. From a well defended corner, the ball ran out to birthday boy Ben Clancy Mitchell, who hit a tremendous strike into the top right hand corner from 20 yards. In the 2nd half, not to be outdone by his defending partner,Ben Rooke also scored from 20 yards to make it 4-0.Speedy Tony Hutchins came onand nearly scored along with Massimo Vece.Ben Vanstone did what he had to in goal and kept his 1st clean sheet of the season.Credit must go to Cully Wolves who never game up and always tried to play football.

ALPHINGTON JETS 3 CULLOMPTON COYOTES 1

Two strong sides put up a good show, with both teams very committed.Jets opened the scoring when Jack Bunclark, turned in Sam Webbers' thunderbolt at the back post. The Cullompton keeper made some tremendous saves, but could do nothing about Jets second, when Sam Webber scored with a right footed shot, after Cam Hargreaves had put him through.Cam Hargreaves,George Rae,Tony Hutchins were all denied by the excellent Cullompton keeper and Ben Vanstone saved well when called upon.Another Sam Webber drive saw Jack Bunclark again turn the ball in from close range, making it 3-0 at half time.In the second half, Coyotes took the game to  the Jets, showing some of the form that has kept them unbeaten.Coyotes scored a well taken goal and had a couple more chances, but with Ben Rooke and Ben Clancy mitchell in top form at the back,Jets created more chances to score. The Cullompton keeper was in superb form to deny Tony,Massimo Vece and George Rae from adding a fourth.
