Alphington AFC - Under 9s Managed by Dave Bunclark

PINHOE SPARTANS 1 ALPHINGTON JETS 3
Following 2 defeats,1-0 to St Martins and 3-2 to Dawlish, both goals by Sam Webber,a full strength Jets inflicted the first defeat for Pinhoe Spartans at Pinhoe. From the kick off Jets took the game to Pinhoe and missed 3 good chances before going behind to a thunderbolt that keeper Ben Vanstone could only admire. This spurred Alphington on and from a throw in Cam Hargreaves beat 1,passed to Jack Bunclark who put the impressive Sam Webber through to cooly slip the ball past the keeper. The Jets created more chances and a speculative 20 yarder from commanding George Rae saw his shot trickle under the Pinhoe goalie.Second half, the Jets continued to dominate.A further goal from prolific Sam Webber ensured the victory was safe.Ben Rooke and Ben Clancy Mitchell were strong in defence and when Massimo Vece and Tony Hutchins came on the team carried on the good work.

PINHOE GLADIATORS 1 ALPHINGTON JETS 4
After a slow start by both sides Jets went ahead through Sam Webber, followed by a bullet header from George Rae.Both the impressive Cam Hargreaves and Jack Bunclark came close to increasing the lead, but the Gladiators keeper denied them with some fine work.Ben Vanstone then tipped a cracking drive over the bar. From the resulting corner,Jets broke away and Sam Webber made no mistake from 15 yards.Ben Rooke then won the ball at the back, and put in George Rae to score his second of the match.Tony Hutchins,Massimo Vece and Ben Clancy Mitchell all played their part in the match and out of sheer determination,Gladiators scored a deserved consolation goal.
