Alphington AFC - Under 9s Managed by Dave Bunclark

Saturday 5th April 2008

MATCH 1 ALPHINGTON JETS 9 - 1 CENTRAL UNITED

Alphington Jets put on a good second half display against a spirited Central side. Cam Hargreaves scored the only goal in the first half of little chances. A much improved Jets side played some excellent football allowing Cam Hargreaves to score his 2nd. Jack Bunclark added a third, before further goals from Sam Webber, George Rae (2),Cam completing his hatrick and 2 goals from Lewis Fallon, his 1st for the Jets, completing the scoring. United scored a well deserved consolation, beating stand in keeper Tony Hutchins. After a shaky start, Ben Rooke and Ben Clancy Mitchell both did well in defence.

MATCH 2 ALPHINGTON JETS 1 - 2 CENTRAL CITY

In an excellent match where the Jets dominated posession for most of the game, the Jets went down 2-1 to strong City side. Against the run of play, Bradley Down scored a well taken goal on the break past stand in keeper Tony Hutchins. The Jets created some good chances before a Sam Webber thunderbolt from 15yards gave the city keeper no chance. The Jets continued to play some good football and were unlucky not to take the lead, but City stood firm. Reece Allen scored a cracker from 25yards, nestling in the top corner, that keeper Jack Bunclark tried in vain to get a hand to, Cam Hargreaves hit the post and George Rae went close with a bullet header before full time. An excellent game that both teams played their part in.
