Alphington AFC - Under 8s Managed by Rob Dodd Graham White

Match Report for Saturday 10th November

Alphington Rockets 0 v Cullompton Rangers 2

This was evenly contested game by two if form teams, the scoreline was not a true reflection on the Game. Cullompton Rangers broke the deadlock early in the first half with a well taken free kick by the Cullompton Midfielder which flew into the Rockets net.Chances were few and far between for both teams. After the break The Rockets were in control of the game but were unable to score an equaliser.Midway through the second Half Cullompton ensured victory with a speculative shot with hit the post and went into the net. The Rockets gave a excellent account of themselves against a Physically stronger side and maybe on another day the result may have been different.

Alphington Rockets 8 v West Hill Wasps 2

Alphington Rockets made some changes for their second fixture of the day and recovered from the earlier defeat to win the game comfortably. Lucas White started off the scoring with a very quick first half hat-trick. The Rockets passed the ball well and goals by James Dodd (2) and a thunderous volley by James Bovey helped The Rockets to a 6-0 lead at half time. The second half started with the Wasps having some good possession and scored a well worked goal. Alphington added to their total with an excellent solo dribble goal by James Dodd to complete his hat-trick. West Hill Wasps scored a second goal but with Harry Warren and Will Burwood playing well  The Rockets created several more chances and James Bovey`s second goal completed the Rockets scoring.
