Latest Match News: Alphington 2 - 0 Countess Wear 03/11//2007

The Alphas bounced back to form with their best performance of the season. High flying Countess Wear played their part in an entertaining game well refereed ( yes we had one ) by young Steve Jones. The Alphas were right at it from the first whistle , the absence of any metal hanging from earlobes obviously had the desired effect.First half goals by Westlife Rowe and MnM May gave us the plaatform to go and play some great passing football. In the second half we could have gone on to win by three or four but in typical fashion we kept the faithful supporters on tenderhooks till the end

Jens Stevo was back between the sticks and made some vital saves in the second half , clearly his week off last week with Vidal Sasson had made all the difference. Right back Tom Bath had a cracking game , tackling like his old man used to despite having legs like his Mum ( sorry Kay ). At left
back in came Matt Parrott , left foot like Roberto Carlos , hair like Ivan Campo. At centre half in came Squeaker Phillips to partner Baxo and they played superbly together to keep out the CW danger man Aaron Saunders.

In midfield Skipper Hoppo was back to his awesome best and alongwith Alex Flick it Up Gray dominated the midfield. On the left wing Luke Osmand ran his socks off creating mayhem in the CW defence and wide right MnM May buzzed around making a nuisance of himself until he decided to go and play centre half and use his towering height in the back four

Up front the tireless running of Chip n Dale and Westlife Rowe ( yes he lasted the full game ) put in their share of work and deserved more for their efforts.

Skipper Hoppo came off with 10 mins to go and on came Ibby to shield in front of the back four , like he'd played there all his career tackling like Stevie G , running and driving us on like Stevie G .....or maybe it was Ali G

A great game lads well done to all , more of the same next week please
