Bow Eagles 1 Alphas 4 22.09.07

The Alphas bagged their first win of the season over previously unbeaten Bow with a fine team performance

One change from last week saw Adam Hully Hull come in at right back and from back to front the Alphas were superior throughout. Despite having the better possession early on though we couldn't break them down , their offside trap was working well. The loss of Westlife Rowe up front was a blow but MnM May came on and made a real nuisance of himself . After 25 mins some great forward play from Chip and Alex led to the eventual opening goal. His clever header released Ozzi to cut in from the right and lob the keeper for a great strike. This gave us real confidence and Hoppo and Alex The Great started to dominate the middle of the park. The second goal came five mins before half time when some good play between MnM and Chip again lead to an easy tap in for Ozzi.

Half time 2-0 to the Alphas

More of the same in the second half would have been great but credit to Bow who forced us back with some good pressure play. As always you have to dig in and battle through a poor spell and well done to all especially the back four who did just that for the for 20 mins of the second half . Squeaker Phillips again outstanding at left back and Jens " Mum do me lace up Please " Stevens made some good reaction saves. The midfield got back on top as Josh The King King came on and played really well down the left . The killer third goal came with 20 mins to goal. After some nice play from King King and MnM , Ozzi found space in the box to tap in for his hat trick.

With 5 to go bow pulled one back but the Alphas responded well and Hully completed a fine performance at right back to get forward to score the fourth goal.

Hopefully this well deserved win will give us confidence going into next weeks big game against Clyst Rovers

Looking forward to training this week where we will concentrate on set pieces , and how to tie up bootlaces to save mum from having to run on ....
