Alphington AFC - Under 11s Managed by Kevin May & Tony Towl

Latest News: Newton Knights 0 v Alphington Tigers 15

This performance was the game of the season on a day where everybody was given a job to do before kick off and everybody stuck to their task. The Newton St Cyres pitch was wide and invited us to play some great football. We expected a hard game with the Knights only having been beaten twice all season but excellent performances across the field made the game easy for us. The first half was the Cam and Dan show. Dan Smith and Cameron Martin equally shared 8 goals between them with some clinical finishing. We dominated in every area of the field particularly with Toby Weatherill outstanding on the right wing. Dan Shannon, Reece Saunders and Jacob Towl repelled everything that the Knights through at us and restricted them to 1 clear effort which keeper Aidan Richards superbly tipped around the post.
Sammy Hill came on in the second half and soon added to the tally with 2 poachers goals. The goals kept coming with 1 more each for Dan and Cameron, 2 for Nathan May and the most deserved goal of the day if not the season by Toby which capped a great performance. Pass and move were the orders of the day and every boy can take great credit for the way that they played helping us to complete an emphatic double.

Man of the Match Toby Weatherill for providing the assists for 10 of the goals and scoring 1 Dan and Cameron for great finishing.
