Alphington Ladies 1 - 8 Newquay Reserves Sunday 2nd March 2008

Alphington Ladies hosted Newquay Reserves this Sunday. Newquay needed a win to secure their top of table position and did it in emphatic style, crushing the Alpha girls 8-1.
 
Alphington started slowly and with a lack of defensive players available, we were unorganised and conceeded 5 goals in the first half.
 
We started better after the break and managed to hold them off for a shrt time. But the Newquay team pushed hard and scored another three late in the second half, their last goal coming just before the final whistle. Alphington's only goal came courtesy of new player Bronnley Wallis who scored a header from a corner clearance.
 
Alphington continue to struggle for players, having played their last three games with only nine or ten players. We would therefore like to invite any one over the age of 15 interested in taking up or returning to football to contact us. Please email alphingtonladies@msn.com for training details.
