Read the latest match report for the Alphas 3rd team

Newton Abbot 0 - 2 Alphington 3rds 26th Jan 2008

With one of the strongest squads available thus far this season the third team went into this game on the back of a fairly decent run of form. We seem to be finally getting our act together in terms of performance and picking up points, it’s only taken us 14 games.

The game started slowly with both teams unable to pass the ball on a pitch that was at times and in places a real quagmire, the ball was sticking and was really difficult to get the first touch right.

Eventually we made the breakthrough with a well taken goal from Foggy who finished well inside the box after the ball had failed to be cleared by the Newton defence.

This is probably the easiest match report I have ever written as there was really only 2 or 3 chances in the game all falling to us and foggy getting both of them.

Nothing more to report really. A majority of players from our side stating that it was probably the worst game of football that they had ever played in.

I would also like to state that it wasn’t until Suchy reminded Wayne Coles that we were actually the team playing in orange that he managed to complete a pass.

Also I find it strange that Foggy seemed to only be able to run whilst hunting for a hat-trick! Hmm strange that.

We thought we might miss the motivational skills of Anth “innit” Coles but we battled gamely on without him .
