Alphington 1 - 0 Liverton 22nd December 2007

Alphas showed what commitment was all about in this game, with every player looking like they wanted to win this game and showing a desire to win each challenge interlinked with some fine football and superb defending.

On a couple of occassions the Alphas rode their luck when the Liverton boys hit the woodwork but on there rebounds went the Alphas way and the defence were quick to react.

Upfront the pace of Ryan leverton and Scott Forster was proving to be a real problem for the Liverton defence, beating them on numerous occassions.

The best bit of play was left until the final 5 minutes when Danny Tyrell exploded from the middle of the pitch with pace and with the defence of Liverton backing away he tip toed through their back line before unleashing a venomous shot which was went low into the back of the net givng him and the Alphas a richly deserved 3 points.

Eds man of the Match: The whole team deserve a mention but the one player who stood out for me with his pace and determination today was Ryan Leverton
