Alphington 0 - 1 Exmouth 15th Sept 2007 - Lacklustre display

On an extremely hot afternoon Exmouth Town chalked up their third victory on the trot as they overcame a lacklustre Alphington side at the Chronicles.

Exmouth almost opened the scoring in the opening minutes when Ben Shepherd's header was cleared off the line by the Alphas' Jason Bastin.

There were few other incidents until the visitors struck in the 50th minute when Tom Lowe's right-wing cross was volleyed home from 12 yards by Dan Plater.

The nearest Alphington came to equalise came on the hour when Lawrence Khoo's long-range effort skimmed the crossbar.

In summary, a lovely sunny afternoon was only spoilt by what looked to be a lack of desire on the part of the Alphas. The Exmouth boys had clearly turned up looking to play football on the back of two good wins but they simply weren't challenged by the Alphas.
