Alphington 3 - 4 Appledore 29th Sept 2007 - Too little too late!!!

The Fishermen's excellent away for continued as the Chronicles as they edged out the Alphas in a seven goal thriller to progress to the next round where they will host the University of Exeter.

Richard Hevingham opened the scoring for the visitors in the 38th minute and the lead was doubled a minute before the break when james Rees exploited some poor defending to tap home the second.

Shaun Copp side-footed Appledore further ahead in the 68th minute but the hosts came back strongly and reduced the arrears through Danny Tyrrell in the 75th minute. Copp struck the visitors' 4th in the 84th minute but late efforts from Leigh Atkins and Gary Hayes ensured a frantic finale that saw the hosts fall just short of an excellent comeback.
